Hi! My name is Rue. I’ve been designing wedding flowers for almost fifteen years. In 2019 I moved my business from Boston to Mid-coast Maine. Here I’ve found a wonderful community full of wedding pros who love to collaborate and are as helpful as they are friendly. I’ve also discovered a bounty of local flower farms where I can get the freshest, most sustainable flowers imaginable.
I work with my couples to take the ideas they have about their wedding flowers and bring them to life. I am responsive to inquiries and questions, and accommodate special requests whenever possible.
I have been committed to the environment for as long as I can remember. As a small business owner, it’s even more important to minimize our impact on the earth. I compost and recycle everything possible during my design process, and take extra steps to recycle and reuse all shipping material and packaging. I avoid floral foam and other single-use plastics and use local, seasonal flowers when they are available. My business is open to all, and I believe strongly in marriage equality.
On a personal level, I am a vegan, animal-loving, goofball. As a native Bostonian, my first language is sarcasm. Yet, my clients describe me as easygoing, dependable, helpful, and understanding. My friends would describe me similarly, but probably funnier. When I’m not designing flowers or running my business you can find me relearning how to canoe, rollerskating, or curled up with my cat watching horror movies. I’m looking forward to getting to know you too!
