Colorful Floral Design for Nonantum Resort Wedding

Kay and Michael’s summer wedding at the Nonantum Resort was absolutely beautiful! This color palette of warm pink, peach, yellow, and coral has been one of my favorite color combinations in the last few seasons.

Nonantum Resort is located in the heart of Kennebunkport, Maine. This venue has plenty of accommodations for your guests, delicious food, an outdoor ceremony space on the waterfront, and an elegant ballroom. I love the historic charm!

When Kay inquired about her wedding flowers, she shared that she loves flowers and wanted them throughout her wedding decor, but wanted to be conscious of her budget. We use lots of local in-season flowers and reused arrangements as much as possible to make that happen!

First and foremost, Kay’s bouquet was an absolute stunner! One of my top ten favorites I have ever designed! When you can use peonies and poppies in the same bouquet – do it. Always! For the boutonnieres for the men, we used pinks to pop against their gray suits. The color palette tied together perfectly with the bridesmaids’ bright blue dresses!

Kennebunkport, Maine Summer Wedding

Kay and Michael were excited to have an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Kennebunkport River. To balance the beautiful view and enhance the ambiance of the space, we decided to create two large arrangements in urns at the end of the aisle. The best part? We seamlessly transitioned these urn arrangements into the reception decor to make the most of every flower.

For the reception at the Nonantum Resort, our focus was to infuse the bright colors into the white backdrop of the space. We selected small-bud vases to create colorful arrangements and paired them with delicate floating candles to create a romantic and intimate atmosphere. I love the flowers we added to the all-white two-tier cake as well! With thoughtful planning, it is possible to have a gorgeous flower design for your wedding, and still be budget-friendly!
