Moving to Maine

Moving my business to Maine was much more of a challenge than just moving myself. The first year I drove back and forth to Boston more times than I could count. I had already scheduled a number of weddings in Boston, plus immediately took on a number in Maine. I drove to Boston for a wedding in a huge snowstorm in January, and had two weddings on the same day in Maine on the hottest day of the year.

Stopped in Belfast, Maine for a little lunch on the way home this day.

That first season in Maine I had weddings all up and down the coast. I had never been to most of the venues, so each wedding was a little adventure in beautiful scenery. From Drakes Island Beach in Wells, Maine to Portside Manor in Searsport, Maine. Everywhere you go is beautiful.

I learned some lessons about making sure you know where exactly the venue is when I went to the wrong park in Portland, and then found out you need a permit to drive through the right one. That was a day.

The correct park in Portland

And everywhere I went I was astounded by the gorgeous views. Some of which are right near me. Days Ferry is gorgeous even in the winter.

What a gorgeous place to live. I’m looking forward to weddings starting up again, and new adventures every weekend.
