The ViewPoint Hotel Wedding in York, ME

Kevin and Doug planned an elegant tented wedding at The Viewpoint Hotel in York, Maine. This gorgeous hotel has an immaculate view of the Nubble Lighthouse! This was my first time working at this venue and I was truly in awe! It is beautiful!

York, Maine Wedding Florist

Doug and Kevin both love flowers and wanted a classic and elegant look that felt masculine. I worked closely with Kevin throughout the planning process and I loved and appreciated how organized he was! He certainly has a knack for design and had a clear vision for what he wanted. The invitation suite and signage he created were perfectly executed! The color scheme was primarily white with pops of dark blue and lots of greenery.

Kevin wanted their boutonnieres to have a nautical rope knot. So, I actually spent time learning how to tie proper nautical knots for them! The photos of both grooms pinning them on while getting ready were two of my favorites from the day.

The ViewPoint Hotel Wedding Ceremony

While setting up for The ViewPoint Hotel wedding, I was stunned by their gorgeous new ceremony space. It overlooks the cliffs and ocean with a perfect view of the Nubble Lighthouse. The elevated ceremony lawn is protected by a glass wall to not interrupt the scenery while protecting your guests from the wind. We added two large arrangements with white flowers and greenery on pedestals at the end of the aisle to add a coastal feel without taking away from the view.

Sailcloth Tented Wedding Reception in York, ME

A great thing about a ViewPoint Hotel wedding is that it is a true blank canvas to source your own vendors and create a reception space that is unique. Kevin designed the seating chart and table names with different lighthouses in Maine complete with illustrations of them. It was so clever. And of course, the head table was Nubble.

One thing I was most excited about was that they wanted to turn the tent poles into “trees”. This was such a great way to bring greens into the tent space without going overboard (nautical pun! HA!). Kevin was very specific about how he wanted the trees to look, and I love that. If you have strong feelings about something, definitely communicate it to your vendors! At one point Kevin sent me an email with pictures labeled “trees I like” and “trees I don’t like”. I got an enormous kick out of that!!

I loved planning these elements of their design, but on the day of the wedding, I suddenly felt like we didn’t have enough saplings! While on my way, I pulled over to a ditch in my town and got out with my loppers to cut down a couple more! I am glad I did because I loved how it turned out!
