The Inn on Peaks Island is a beautiful venue off the coast of Portland, Maine that is the perfect location for a summer wedding! Aisling and Zach were one of the many Covid couples who had to change their wedding date multiple times. However, their wedding was worth the wait!
Aisling and Zach came to me wanting a pink and peach color scheme for their floral design to complement their blue attire and details. This has become an increasingly popular color combination that is so much fun to design with!
Pastel Floral Design for a Maine Wedding
We carefully selected in-season garden flowers for all of the arrangements. We used peonies, ranunculus, lisianthus, garden roses, and eucalyptus throughout each bouquet. I love how Aisling’s bridal bouquet came together with various shades of pink and peach!
The wedding party all wore different shades of dusty blue that carried the coastal theme throughout the day. For the groomsmen, we added boutonnieres with a single flower to stand out against their blue suits. And for the bridesmaids we created simple, but stunning bouquets for them to hold.
For the ceremony, we hung mason jars on the end chairs and filled them with different types of flowers. Since the gazebo was the main point of their ceremony we created a swag above where they would be standing with the pink and peach flowers and eucalyptus. We were able to use the mason jars again on all of the cocktail tables at the reception, which is a great way to get the most out of your flowers!
Outdoor Tented Reception at The Inn on Peaks Island
After taking some beach photos, Aisling and Zach joined their guests for their outdoor reception at The Inn on Peaks Island. The tent was perfect for dinner for all of their family and friends. The white drapery inside of the tent gave us a blank slate, so the pops of pink and blue really stood out. We lined the tables with eucalyptus, myrtle, and olive branches and added bright roses. We decorated their cake with peach garden roses. I loved the personal touch of the little dogs they added to the cake as well!
A huge highlight of the night was having Aisling and her band, The Buffers, perform during the reception. They brought all of their gear on the ferry to the island to perform for family and friends! It’s not often you see a bride performing at her own wedding, so this was such a fun and memorable part of their day!
