Boho Floral Design for Caswell Farm Wedding

I absolutely loved designing flowers for Megan and Ryan’s summer wedding at Caswell Farm and Wedding Barn. This charming and picturesque venue in Gray, Maine has a rustic, yet elegant vibe.

Unique Barn Venue in Maine

On the property, there is a lovely garden ceremony space with colorful flowers blooming all season, a tented reception area, and a small barn for dancing. It was essential to design flower arrangements and bouquets to complement the natural backdrop of the venue.

Ryan was one of the nicest grooms I’ve ever worked with. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and knew where to go while setting up for the wedding. I think he would have hauled buckets of flowers around for us if we had asked! Everyone had a blast at this wedding and you could tell they just loved being together!

Wildflower Bouquet for a Summer Wedding

Megan selected a yellow and purple color scheme so she could use sunflowers and wildflowers throughout the arrangements. Her wedding dress was boho style with crochet details so we created a loose bouquet with black-eyed susans, sunflowers, delphinium, scabiosa, and Queen Anne’s Lace. I also loved that she requested loose flowers for her hair as a beautiful detail. We truly wanted the flowers to match the natural landscape of the property at Caswell Farm and Wedding Barn and it feels like it just “fit!”

Her bridesmaids wore gorgeous deep purple dresses so we had them hold single sunflowers that were perfect for a later summer wedding! The groomsmen wore gray suits with yellow ties to match the sunflowers as well as their boutonnieres.

One lovely surprise for Megan and Ryan was that the “Flower Man,” Lucas, contacted me privately to do something a little crazy for them. They had asked him to be their “flower man” so he took it a step further and hired me to make a flower sash that he could wear walking down the aisle! It was so much fun to create this unique request, plus it looked great on him!
