Like many couples getting married in Maine, Brianna and Ethan came to me looking for a nautical floral design for their wedding at Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, ME. I get a lot of requests for this blue-and-white color scheme, but this one really stood out!
Kennebunkport Wedding Floral Design
Brianna was so sweet from the first moment I talked to her. She shared with me that she loves flowers and specifically loves hydrangeas and peonies. While planning for her wedding, I did a little magic to ensure she got the last blush-colored peonies of the local season for her bouquet! I was so thrilled to be able to do this for her, even though it was early July! We added blue hydrangeas and small stems of eucalyptus to all of the bouquets. It tied together perfectly with the dusty blue bridesmaid dresses.
Not only did we design the bouquets, but we used an abundance of flowers for the boutonniere, corsages, cake, flower girl crowns, and decor! Everything was designed with a garden style and in keeping with the nautical blue and white color scheme. The flower girl crowns made of baby’s breath were a big hit (and not just with the girls)! They looked so cute!
Nautical Floral Design for Maine Wedding
Nonantum Resort has a beautiful outdoor ceremony space overlooking the water. Brianna chose to rent my gold circle arch as a structure for flowers for the ceremony. I loved that the arch didn’t block the background. Using a circle arch is a great way to showcase the location while still having gorgeous flowers for the ceremony! We used delphiniums here along with the hydrangeas to add a pop of blue. I LOVE the way this came together.
After the ceremony, we moved the two aisle pieces underneath the seating chart and to the base of the sweetheart table, as well as the welcome sign piece to the cake table. I always try to maximize floral arrangements and reuse flowers where we can. It gave Brianna the abundant floral look that she wanted!
Brianna was absolutely glowing on her wedding day (and not just from the heat)! I know people use that expression a lot, but she really just radiated happiness. You can really tell how much Brianna and Ethan love each other from these photos!
