Unique Barn Venues on the Midcoast of Maine

The rocky coast, picturesque landscapes, and charming coastal towns of Maine make it an idyllic place to get married. Whether you are a local, or traveling for a destination wedding, the midcoast of Maine has some of our favorite barn wedding venues that perfectly blend rustic elegance with natural beauty. What sets these venues apart are their gardens that provide blooming and lush backdrops for your ceremony spaces, cocktail hour, and portraits as well as a beautiful barn for the reception and dancing.

In this post, we will reveal our top three favorite barn wedding venues, as wedding florists, along the Midcoast of Maine!

Barn Venues on the Midcoast of Maine: Live Well Farm

Live Well Farm is a wedding venue in Harpswell, Maine with a 185-year-old renovated farmhouse and barn. It is located along the coast sitting on five acres of land that provide a beautiful backdrop of gorgeous fields and gardens. The beautiful sunroom is full of natural light and perfect for getting hair and makeup done. It is also close enough to the water for shoreline portraits and first looks!

One of the many reasons we love this venue is the garden ceremony space has been immaculately designed. It has an intimate feeling, with arbors and benches thoughtfully arranged, despite it being on a relatively large property. We love designing florals for your ceremony arbor. Plus, it has flowering creeping thyme below it which is naturally beautiful in the summer months.

Plan to have a tent reception for dinner and use the barn for dancing the night away! You are able to source all of your own vendors at this venue to create a personalized and custom wedding day!

Maine Venue with Incredible Gardens: Marianmade Farm

Marianmade Farm is a working flower and lavender farm located just outside of Wiscasset, Maine. The farm sits along the banks of the Sheepscot River and has incredible grounds and a large reception space.

All the landscaping is exquisite. There is something new and beautiful to look at everywhere you turn from the moment you drive onto the farm. There are garden beds full of different types of hydrangeas and lavender. There’s an adorable cottage for the ladies to get ready in and a smaller lounge area on the other side of the barn for the guys.

While we love to design your ceremony florals and bouquets, there is not a lot you need to do when the grounds are in bloom! There is an outdoor ceremony spot with an arbor sitting along the water. There is even a permanent clear structure for outdoor ceremonies in case of rain, or if you would like, to host a larger outdoor reception.

Alongside the barn is a veranda that can be used as a cocktail area or for guest book tables. There are a never-ending amount of gardens and natural landscape that is perfect for all of your portraits.

The reception barn is also lighter and airier than most barns in the area. It doesn’t feel as barn-like and rustic but has a more modern feel. It can comfortably seat 140 of your guests for dinner and dancing. If you are looking for a truly unique barn venue on the Midcoast of Maine – this is it!

Wanderwood, A Midcoast Maine Wedding Venue

Wanderwood, located in Nobleboro, is a relatively new barn wedding venue on the midcoast of Maine. This venue is also a working organic farm where they sell their own seasonal vegetables and flowers! They are focused on creating earth-friendly celebrations on their picturesque property.

The grounds come with the use of the Farmhouse, Event Barn, and lawn space for a rental tent (if you wish). The ceremony space is in front of their huge flower field, so you are guaranteed a gorgeous backdrop all season long!

We love working with this farm because they are so eco-conscious! Learn more about our own eco-friendly floral designs! They use sustainable methods of farming so your reception dinner is a true farm-to-table experience. Plus everything gets composted back into the farm, including the compostable dinnerware!
