I absolutely loved designing the florals for Hannah and Derek’s colorful wedding on Peak’s Island. There is no better word to describe this wedding than FUN! From the tropical, vibrant florals to the incredible wedding party, the jokes and laughs did not stop with this crew!
Hannah and Derek got engaged in Bermuda and wanted to bring that tropical vibe to Maine. The flowers were the perfect way to do this! They are one of the many couples that needed to reschedule their wedding multiple times due to Covid. However, in the end, they pulled it together quickly with the help of Julie of Maine Premier Event Planning.
TEIA Club Summer Wedding
Peaks Island, just a short ferry ride from Portland, ME, is the perfect location for a coastal Maine wedding. TEIA is a well-known clubhouse venue on the island that is perfect for smaller weddings. Hannah and Derek decided to have their first look out on the dock. Hannah’s bridal bouquet really popped against the blue ocean and rocky coast in the background.
Bright Floral Design for Coastal Maine Wedding
The bridesmaids and grooms gals were the absolute most fun wedding party I’ve ever hung out with. The crazy antics just did not stop, starting with one of the bridesmaids diligently standing guard over the women’s bathroom while the bride was having a private moment. She was literally blocking the door so no one would go in, as any good friend would!
We had some good laughs trying to figure out where to pin the grooms gals’ boutonnieres and having to ask them if I could undo their shirts so we could pin them on! Overall, I loved how the orange boutonnieres looked on everyone!
Vibrant Color Scheme for Peaks Island Wedding
We carried colorful flowers and a deep green color scheme throughout the ceremony and reception decor. We designed two large arrangements for the ceremony arbor with lots of bright pink, orange, and yellow. They marked the aisle with plastic pink flamingos, so it matched perfectly. The florals looked refined and elegant, while still reflecting the fun and quirky side of the couple. For the reception decor, Hannah collected vintage clear vessels to line the tables and add more pops of color with three to four stems in each. I love how the flowers looked cascading down the all-white cake! Hannah also made pressed floral table numbers herself that I adored!
