Backyard Maine Wedding- Melanie and Steve

Melanie and Steve had their backyard wedding at a family home on Thompson Lake in Maine where Melanie spent her summers as a kid. It was a fun and relaxed affair filled with personal touches and happy faces.

They had sweet details of hand-lettered place markers and a hand-lettered seating chart on an antique glass door. My favorite touch was the white painted canoe that the beverages were served out of.

Tip: Melanie purchased her own vases and had them shipped to me. This is a great option if you want your guests to be able to take the flowers home.

Melanie really wanted peonies for her August wedding, so I had some shipped in from Alaska!

The bridesmaids wore dusty blue, the guys were in classic blue suits, and Steve had the best floral tie! We also made flower crowns for all the little flower girls.

Coastline Weddings did a fantastic job keeping everything organized and flowing smoothly. Always have a day-of planner if you’re using a private home for a backyard wedding.

Two Adventurous Souls is my favorite photography couple. They always take stunning, true color photographs and video. They can roll with the punches, and will keep you laughing through it all.
